My name is Emily (Emmy) Young, a graphic designer with experience in Branding, Social Media, Packaging Design, Web Design, Logo Design, UI/UX, Marketing, Print Design, Illustration/Drawing, Animation, Painting, Layout Design, Motion Graphics, and Typography.
While growing up in Clinton, New Jersey and Ocean View, Delaware, I always had a love of drawing. I started off by drawing people and my favorite characters from shows and movies when I was young. From that, I took classes in high school that allowed me to explore my artistic interest, where I then found a love for graphic design. I majored in graphic design and graduated from Virginia Tech with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in May 2025 (go Hokies!). I am experienced in numerous graphic design software applications including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects), HTML, 3D Modeling, Figma, and more. Along with taking design classes, I also expanded my education by taking classes in Marketing, Advertising, AI in the Marketplace, and others to explore the business side of digital design and branding. Currently I am working as a part-time graphic designer, and also working on various ad hoc projects for local businesses. Pursuing my love for art and design in college and now taking the next step to turn my passion into a professional career is a journey I look forward to!
